This change means it is capable of holding a larger and quieter 120 mm fan instead of an 80 mm fan, the likes of which are often annoyingly loud or noticeable when spinning up and down. The result is a powerful SFX-L power supply with an extremely high continuous output capacity of 500 Watts that is paired with a remarkably quiet fan that is capable of changing speeds in accordance with the load.
Thanks to the SFX-L format, the SFX-L Power is primarily aimed at users of Small Form Factor cases, although that doesn't mean it's not kitted out with an array of connectivity options with a minimum of trade-offs. Due to its 12.5 cm length, users should check before purchase that it is compatible with the case of their choice. The included back bracket also conveniently enables the PSU to be mounted in ATX-format cases.
FULLY MODULAR CABLE MANAGEMENT & 80PLUS GOLD EFFICIENCYThe superb quality of the cabling used here makes installing the PSU a breeze, even in smaller cases. This is also thanks to the unit being fully modular and equipped with removable ribbon cabling to enable users to select just the cables they need most. The extremely high efficiency of the PSU, on average between 86.5 % - 89.5%, means it was awarded with the 80Plus Gold certification. This also means that only a relatively small amount of electrical energy is released as unwanted heat.
